Capsule for the Day
When we throw a small stone into a river, it causes small ripples. When we throw a big stone, it splashes and then it causes big ripples. The nature of the ripples depends on the size of the stone and the speed in which the stone is thrown. So, our main concern isn't the ripples but the stone.
Our lives are like a river. It is calm and peaceful until we throw a stone into it and then it is disturbed. There is only one stone that disturbs our peace. It is the stone of sin, rejecting God. Its ripple effects varies depending on the depth of rejection. If we casually reject God the effect will be small.
However, the consistency of small effects may lead to bigger ripples. So, if we want peace, we have to guard against even the smallest stones. For God keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him, because they trust in Him (Isaiah 26:3). Can we reject God and still trust Him?
