Isaiah 7:9 _(But if you do not stand by me, you will not stand at all)_ is very prophetic. It calls us to fidelity. It calls us to stand by God in good times and in bad. The text is inspired by the sense of Israel's marriage to the Lord. She is a bride, and the Lord, her Groom expects her to stand by Him or she will not stand at all. It is call on how to live life fully.

Stand by the Lord. How? By Loving the Lord above all other gods. It is about being obedient to the first commandment "I am the Lord your God, thou shall not have any other god before Me". It is about saying yes to God, to His Word, to His Promises in times when we are tempted to say yes to the gods of popular culture, philosophy, fashion, etc.

Isaiah wasn't mincing words here, "But if you don't stand by Me, you will not stand at all". There are too many examples that give credibility to his prophecy. The most obvious is Israel's exile experience. Israel couldn't stand as a nation because she didn't stand by the God of the nation. Thus, how can we live life to the full if we don't stand by the God of life?
