Friends, I have always had it in mind to share with you this wisdom: "Focus on what God is doing". I didn't just make this up. I learned it on my knees. For many years, I had focused on what people were doing. Thus, their actions and inactions affected me. I let them to literally control my mood. I was at their mercy. "I couldn't breath unless they said so".
It got to a point when I could no longer pay the emotional price. I had to seek help. I read the Scriptures. I prayed the Rosary. I fasted. I also literally wept at every Mass I celebrated. It was tough. But in the darkness of all this came the wisdom. "My child, focus on what I am doing". At first, I didn't understand. But with time, I came to grasp the wisdom.
The reality is when we focus on what others are doing, we get drawn into their own world and then they have the power over us, to manipulate and control. On the other hand, when we focus on what God is doing, we are drawn into His world and we experience His peace, the freedom that comes from being loved by Him. This is the joy He gives.
