Accepting God's Will
God wills. He always wills the good. But the good doesn't always appear attractive and splendid. Sometimes, it comes covered with very ugly wraps that make us to doubt it is of God. We don't often see the glory of God or His finger. But the fact that His glory isn't obvious doesn't mean it isn't His will. The cross is a good example here. It was ugly.
This is where it becomes a little bit mucky. We naturally think of God as purity, perfection, glory and splendour. Yes, these qualities describe Him. But He also chooses to reveal Himself and His will in ways that contradict our own expectations of Him. That is why Solomon warns us "not to rely on our own insights, but to trust God with all our heart".
So, accepting God's will is risky. It may be His will. It may as well be the will of human beings. However, we can resolve the uncertainty by trusting God with all that comes our way. This is our strength as Christians. This is where we find peace and overcome the snares and wickedness of the evil one. For what isn't of God can't stand the test of time.
