Capsule for the Day
At the beginning of the new month, the temptation for many of us is to waste our time and energy on regret. We feel bad about lost opportunities. We remember the good we could have done in the past month, but couldn't do. Then, comes the slogan, "if only I had known, I would have...."
Thus, we focus on what we couldn't do or become in the past, and waste away the opportunities in the present to do and become all that we have dreamed to be. The moral here is "regret is the murderer of hope and the evangelist of anxiety, despair, depression and the like.
We can't afford to live our lives regretting. For no matter how long we regret, we can't live January 2017 again. The sooner we realise the past is gone, the better we live the moment. For the present, the now, the Kairos is the moment of grace. And Grace is at work in spite of the past.
