Homily - Daily Capsule - Fr Francis Afu

Capsule for the Day

Generally, we all want to be better, to improve ourselves and to achieve greater heights. We are often not satisfied with the now. The present, we believe, is never as good as the future. We want the future. We want more. More of everything we have and are. We want the best.

Great aspirations! Pretty much a purpose-driven life. Going for what we truly want. A kind of translating our potentials into reality. The Spirit behind every invention and technological breakthrough. We don't want to settle for anything less than the best. So, we keep striving.

There is nothing wrong in bettering ourselves. But everything is wrong when we don't enjoy what we already have. The temptation for many of us is we think that by getting more and becoming better we will be happy. Unfortunately, we don't. We trade in our happiness for... dissatisfaction.
