Capsule for the Day
He fell! He fell the first time! What a fall it must have been? The pain was excruciating... the weight of the cross was pressing hard on Him. He fell! And the soldiers wouldn't let Him be. They kicked Him... dragged Him... no sympathy let alone empathy. The Saviour at the mercy of those He came to save.
Yes, He fell! But the ground wasn't His destiny. He wasn't ashamed of His fall. He stood up, He staggered... but He moved on; looking forward to the goal... the mission you may call it. Rich lesson, the Saviour wasn't in denial of His fall. No cover up! It was real. No shifting of blame. He fell.
What a contrast with our own attitude toward fall, towards sin and towards mistakes. We tend to deny our falls or we just shift the blame on someone else in other to look good before the eyes of others. We are invincible, we can't fall. But if our Saviour could own up to His own fall, why can't we?
