Capsule for the Day
Today, we gather to celebrate the New Commandment - love one another as I have loved you. This Love isn't cheap. It could cost one's time and health. It could also cost one's good name. It is damned expensive. It has a face... the face of the One who gave the commandment - Jesus the Christ.
Today, this commandment stands to set us free of ourselves, our pride, in order for us to reflect the Good... to love as brothers and sisters bearing the pain, the burden of loving, even those we don't like. This love transcends the present and opens us for the future. It is the Love that hopes.
It is the Love that stooped to conquer. It took the bullet; died our death and gave us life. This Love learned to obey through suffering. It is the Love that heals us by the wounds it bore. This Love has no fear, it has no bitterness, no envy, no malice. This Love is God. And with God, we can truly love.
