Capsule for the Day
"Come as you are, that is how I want you... each time you fail to live by my promise, why do you think I love you the less?" This line gives us a glimpse of who God is and how He relates with us. What matters to God is our relationship with Him. "I will be your God, and you will be my people".
And the first five chapters of the Letter to the Hebrews is a description of this relationship. God, in Christ Jesus, makes Himself one like "us". Notice it is not the "perfect us" without struggles nor temptations; without the falls; but the typical "us" who fell three times on His way to Calvary.
Besides, those He called and worked with were not perfect when He met them nor were they perfect when they came to Him. They had their pasts, some an awful past. But Jesus didn't reject them because of their awful past. He accepted them, loved them and transformed them into great people.
