Capsule for the Day
"Every saint", according to Oscar Wilde, "has a past; and every sinner has a future". The past of the saint makes him or her humble. It makes the saint grateful... "see where He has brought me, and see where He has established me, to Him be glory and honour forever. He raised me up!"
This is the gratitude that comes from a child... one who has encountered Love and has risen with Love to love as He loves. It is a gratitude that comes from healed wounds... "I was lost but now I am found". He found me... He found you and He will find others. For every sinner has a future...
The problem is we often don't believe there is a future for us. We feel the here and now is all there is. But Love transcends the present... He hopes! He believes in us... He knows we can change... He knows we can be better and He knows we are good enough for Him... He rose that we may rise.
