Capsule for the Day

There are stories in every age and everywhere of heroes/ heroines, and ordinary people. We love to tell these stories, and we also love to tell our own personal stories. Typical of many of these stories are wounds. Real wounds! While some wounds are still hurting, others are healing.

The reality is we all treat our wounds differently. A good number of us simply deny our wounds and dress them up with cosmetics so that people wouldn't know we have them. While this attitude covers up our wounds, it makes healing difficult and sometimes a near impossibility.

But there is another attitude. The attitude of the resurrection which helps us to accept our wounds, to reveal them and to seek complete healing. This attitude of the risen Christ inspired Tim Hanrahan to exclaim "wounds give more than they take". And to say the least, they give us empathy.
