Homily - Daily Capsule - Fr. Francis Afu

Capsule for the Day
It is very easy to talk about Christ; the greatness of His life and the power of His teachings. We could write extensively on the Love of God and the God who is Love. We could speak of the joy of loving our neighbour, and how wonderful it is to love. We could even tell testimony of loving relationships.
But when it comes to actually living out what we say, write and preach, it is a tough one. This is true not just for preachers but also for non-preachers. At one point or another, we all struggle to walk the talk. We struggle to love, we even struggle to be loved. This is a reality that hits us.
The fact that we failed to live out what we said doesn't necessarily make us untrustworthy. It could indicate that, but then we aren't the sum of our failings. We are only a people on life's journey, with its ups and downs. When we fall, we shouldn't give up. We should rise, and keep our word.
