Capsule for the Day
There is another side to "the coin of memories", we forget them or we lose them. In either case, we become disconnected from those who helped make the memories. We become unfaithful to them. And since we don't remember, we don't appreciate. We become judgemental, abusive.
Perhaps, this is a familiar reality. We are somehow culprits here. We forget what the Lord has done for us and so we disconnect from worshipping Him. This is true for our relationship with God as it is also true for human relationships. By forgetting, we also become insensitive, cold and distant.
No wonder we hear people say "he doesn't love me anymore; No, she doesn't care for me". But how can he or she care when he or she doesn't remember. And how can God makes sense to us when we don't remember who He is and what He has done for us? Ritual helps us to remember.
