Capsule for the Day

"If the Lord does not build the house, in vain do its builders labour; if the Lord does not watch over the city, in vain does the watchman keep vigil. In vain is your earlier rising, your going later to rest, you who toil for the bread you eat, when he pours gifts on his beloved while they slumber".

The above quote from Psalm 127 urges us to labour with God. We can't do it all on our own. We need God. We need to draw strength from Him. Plan with Him and execute our plans with Him. It's about connecting with our Source; it’s about building on the Solid Foundation; it's about Meaning.

Trying to do it all on our own is the very definition of pride. And typical of pride, it goes before a fall. In vain is our earlier rising... in vain is our labour... for without God work is unfulfilling, undignifying; it only becomes a form of slavery. Work has meaning when it is done with God and for Him.
